Compensation for farmers of Chawla village

NEW DELHI, June 14: Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma today disbursed Rs 10 crore to the farmers of village Chawla in South-West district as compensation for acquisition of agriculture land.The Chief Minister while disbursing the amount which varied from Rs 10 to 40 lakhs per head, advised the farmers to make proper utilisation of this amount by either safe deposit in banks or investment is some profitable ventures so that the family could continue to get financial support in the absence of their agricultural land which was acquired for developmental purposes.
