Sushma Swaraj inaugurates health centre

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, June 14: Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sushma Swaraj said today that imbalanced family planning has created hurdles in development and implementation of welfare policies.

She said this while inaugurating a health centre at Janakpuri which has been constructed under the ``India Population Project-8'' with the help of World Health Organisation.

She said that only educated people have adopted the norms of family planning whereas people residing in JJ clusters seem reluctant to doing so.

In his address, Jagdish Mukhi, Minister of Finance, Government of Delhi who presided over the function said that the Govt of Delhi is committed to the uplift the standard of living of Delhiites particularly those who arepoor. He said the birth rate of Delhi is lower than the overall population growth in the Capital adding that the main reason for it was the migration of population from the neighbouring states.
