Asia crisis may hit US economy
The United States economy is likely to be affected by the financial crisis which after leaving its mark on several East-Asian countries, is now threatening Japan, the world's second largest economy. As risks to the global economy rises, the brisk economy of USA faces an uncertain future, with the crisis now starting to affect bigger nations like Japan's four trillion dollar economy.

NRIs dropped from IA, Air-India joint panel
Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Ananth Kumar, has removed the three special Non-Resident Indian (NRI) invitees to the joint board of Air-India and Indian Airlines, citing national security interests as the reason. In November last year, the trio had been invited by former minister C M Ibrahim, despite opposition from M K Kaw, till recently Secretary, Civil Aviation.

Panel on Naxal issue to meet monthly
A coordination committee headed by the Union Home Secretary has been constituted to evolve a common programme to deal with the Naxalite problem in the four affected states - Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Orissa. The committee, comprising Chief Secretaries and Director Generals of Police of the four states, will meet every month at Hyderabad.
