Virility scorcher
The other night, while at a party at the 1900's to launch the face of the year, I couldn't help but notice that the proportion of male to female was heavily tilted in favour of the male species. There were lots of rippling muscles, bristling moustaches, flexing biceps -- you name it. I couldn't help the thought that perhaps the homo sapien quest for an elixir to youth and virility have left many a species near extinct -- tiger bones, rhino horns, monkey's brain, bear's paws, the list is endless.

London Calling
For most of the ladies who like to shop, London was the place to be this weekend. The reason: couturier Tarun Tahiliani's visit to the city. He brought with him an exhibition of his latest line and his clothes were picked up like they were going out of style. A young NRI bought the only bridal outfit in his collection -- a day before the presentation started. The exhibit was a two-day affair, held at the posh Hilton Hotel.

World Vignettes
The Queen Mother Elizabeth has entered the record books as the oldest royal in British history. The mother of Queen Elizabeth II, she has lived for 97 years and 315 days, and yesterday passed the longevity record held by Queen Victoria's granddaughter Princess Alice, who died January 3, 1981.
