Sena bid to save CM's Thane institute

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
MUMBAI, June 18: Senior Congressmen from Thane district allege that the ruling Shiv Sena government has hatched a conspiracy to shunt Municipal Commissioner T Chandrashekhar out of Thane with a specific two-point agenda in mind.

One, to spare the Kohinoor institute owned by Chief Minister Manohar Joshi, situated in front of the Thane railway station, and the other to save the Sena sakhas from demolition undertaken for the widening of roads in Thane. The allegations were made at a press conference convened by city Congress President Subash Kanade who threatened to launch an agitation protesting any move to transfer Chandrashekhar.
