Videocon showroom robbed
Electronic goods worth Rs 10 lakh were stolen from a Videocon showroom in Jagatpuri at 4 a.m. on Sunday. Twenty youth raided the Videocon plaza and walked off with 25 colour televisions, five refrigerators and six automatic washing machines.

The youth arrived in a truck and overpowered the lone guard on duty outside the showroom. They then broke open the shutters and loaded their truck with the goods. Just before they drove off, two other chowkidaars of the area came along. They were also tied up. The three guards were taken for a ride in the truck and dropped near the Uttar Pradesh border.The show was run under a joint partnership by Kanta Devi and Harish Kumar.

Cyclist crushed to death
A 45-year-old cyclist Desh Ram was crushed to death by a Maruti car at Khelgaon road near Shiv Mandir in Andrew Ganj on Sunday morning. The Defence Colony police have registered a case.

Woman sets herself afire
A 20-year-old woman reportedly committed suicide in her Nandnagri house around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. She poured kerosene and set herself afire. According to fire department officials, there was nobody at home at the time of the incident.

Gurgaon contractor robbed
Three unidentified youths robbed a contractor of Rs two lakhs in the Jyoti Park area of Gurgaon on Saturday afternoon.

The police said the contractor, Shivlal, had withdrawn Rs 2.34 lakh from a local bank. He kept Rs two lakh in a bag and put the restraining amount in his pocket. Three youngsters, riding a Yamaha mobike, pushed Shivlal as and snatched his bag while he was parking his scooter.

Three arrested for theft
The anti-auto theft squad of north district have held three and recovered five gold chains. With these arrests the police claim to have solved 10 cases of snatching. On June 18, the police arrested Sandeep Kumar and Kuldeep Rai and recovered a knife from their possession. A case was registered under the Arms Act. Interrogation revealed that they were involved in many cases of chain snatching.

A jeweller who bought stolen items from them was also arrested. Both the accused Sandeep and Kuldeep Rai worked as cloth vendor and AC mechanic respectively during the day and took to crime by night.

Body found
An unidentified body was found near the Nangloi railway station on Saturday. The deceased, who is about 25-26 years old, had reportedly met with a train accident.
