Surprises galore
The best surprises come in small packages I've always been given to believe. Being invited to a surprise party, and the L'Oreal Elite model look of the year contest took a certain amount of deft social jugglery! Surprises that were galore! Packages of every size and proportion oozing every kind of '90s dream merchant spiel. But in our desh the Jane-come-lately attitude always gets you the best seats in the house.

Her first step
Standing first is something Anna Bredmeyer is used to. Last year, she was the first model to turn into an ambassadress when she joined Beautiful Boulevard. Twenty years ago, she was one of the first models to be crowned `supermodel'. And last month, Anna proved that she could still stand next to today's top models and nearly dwarf them with her elegance and haute carriage.

Roving Eye
At the premiere of Ghulam, on Friday, the usual bunch of celebs turned up. From Subhash Ghai to Ramesh Sippy to Dharmesh Darshan, they were all there to keep the Ghulam team company. As were representatives from all the music companies. The Jains from Venus, people from HMV ... basically, the who's who of the audio business. Except for one glaring omission -- no one from Tips -- the company that has the music rights of the film -- wasn't there.
