Cabinet nod for Women's Quota Bill

NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet has decided to introduce Women's Reservation Bill in the Lok Sabha when Parliament resumes its sitting on July 3. The Bill would ensure 33 per cent reservation for women in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies.

Undertrials escape

PATNA: At least 13 undertrials have escaped from the sub-jails at Bagha and Jamtara this week, police said. Eeight undertrails escaped from Bagha sub-jail in west Champaran district, while five others broke the iron bars of their wards to escape from Jamtara.

MP's son abducted

AGARTALA: National Liberation Front of Tripura militants have kidnapped the son of ruling CPI-M MP Bajuban Reang from his residence on Wednesday night. The ultras stormed into the house at about 2100 hrs and abducted his eldest son, Ranjit, at gun point. The MP was not in his house when the incident occurred.
