2 cops suspended for manhandling lawyer in Okhla

NEW DELHI, June 25: Two Delhi Police constables of the Srinivaspuri police station were suspended following an altercation with an advocate tonight. An inquiry has been ordered. Constables Ajit Pal and Satbir got into a scuffle with advocate Shams Khwaja at Batla House near Okhla around 8.30 p.m. ``I was in my car when I noticed one of the constables harassing a rickshawpuller,'' says Khwaja. ``I tried to stop him. In the scuffle that followed, the other constable joined in.''``There is an encroachment drive on in the area and the constables were on special duty,'' says SHO Dharambir Joshi. ``They should have shown restraint.''
