No orders to downgrade Swamy's security
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, June 26: A Union Home Ministry spokesperson has clarified that the Ministry had not issued any order for scaling down the security of Janata Party president Subramaniam Swamy. ``Also, the CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) have not issued any instruction to their regional office in Chennai to withdraw from the security of Swamy,'' the spokesperson added, reacting to the report published by The Indian Express on June 16.However, when The Indian Express had contacted Swamy, he had clearly stated that his security had been downgraded to the `Y' category. Union Home Secretary B P Singh, when contacted, had referred the matter to Special Secretary Nikhil Kumar, who despite several attempts, was unavailable for comment.
