PUNE, JUNE 27: Bank of Maharashtra has earned a net profit of Rs 56.29 crore during the financial year 1997-98, a rise of 19 per cent over previous year level.Announcing the results after its board of directors meeting here this evening, BoM chairman and managing director T S Raghavan said the bank's overall performance has been very encouraging during the year and its overall operating efficiency has improved.
Then bank's commitments under an MoU signed with Reserve Bank of India for the year 1997-98 have been honoured by exceeding the same with considerable margin in respect of deposits, credit expansion, investments, profitability and capital adequacy, Raghavan said. The total mobilisation of deposits amounting to Rs 1,769 crore during the year 1997-58.
