4 try to kill driver in city The Katargam police have registered a case of attempt to murder against four unidentified people, who stabbed a man, several times, before escaping on Saturday night. Ayub alias Ali Yusuf Patel, a resident of Variali Bazaar near Muglisara and a rickshaw driver by profession, told the Katargam police that two persons, who wanted to go to Dabholi village, approached him around 10 pm on Saturday. However, two other persons on a motorcycle joined them near Singanpore and all four stabbed him before escaping, Ali added. The Katargam police have registered a case and are investigating.Case registered Mansukhbhai Solanki lodged a case against one Jitubhai Brahman, who tried to cheat him by handing over him a fake Rs 100 note on Saturday night. Solanki caught hold of the accused and with the help of the local residents handed him over to the Varachha police. A case under section 489 (a) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and is being investigated. Hit-and-run A person walking on a bridge in the city was hurt and sustained injuries when he was hit by a speeding autorickshaw on Saturday evening, the Udhna police said. One Jijibrao Patil lodged a complaint in the Udhna police station stating that he was hit by an unidentified rickshaw and the driver fled along with the vehicle immediately after the incident.
