Anand draws again, shares second spot
Top Seed Viswanathan Anand was held to a second straight draw in the Sparkassen Chess meeting 1998 by German Grandmaster Arthur Yusupov in one of the longest classical games Anand has played in recent times. Anand signed for a draw after 64 moves, so far the longest game of this category-18 tournament.

Brazil took a 3-0 half-time lead in the 50th match of the tournament with goals from Cesar Sampaio in the 11th and 27th minutes and a Ronaldo penalty just before the break.
