MUMBAI: Thermax Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 45.33 crore during the year ended March 1998 compared to Rs 43.57 crore in the previous year. The directors have recommended a dividend of 35 per cent. The company recorded a total income of Rs 530.13 crore (Rs 522.42 crore) and the gross profit increased to Rs 66.36 crore from Rs 62.85 crore last year. The earning per share increased to Rs 19.49 from Rs 18.74 the previous year.

Microtech

MUMBAI: Cadam Systems Company (CSC), a leading vendor of desktop mechanical engineering CAD/CAM software company, has gifted 100 Helix design software packages valued at Rs 4 crore to IIT, Delhi. This was part of an MOU signed by CSC and IIT-Delhi which include free maintenance and upgrades for the next five years. The arrangement was coordinated through Microtech Software and Consultants, the partners of CSC in India.

Ion Exchange

MUMBAI: ION Exchange (India) posted a net profit of Rs 12.44 crore during the year ended March1998 (Rs 10.82 crore) on a net income from operations of Rs 186 crore (Rs 176.84 crore). The directors have stepped up the dividend to 35 per cent (30 per cent). Interest costs fell significantly by 19.7 per cent. Exports (including deemed) rose to Rs 37.6 crore, an increase of 36.7 per cent over last year's Rs 27.5 crore.
