20-year-old man stabbed to death in Nehru Park

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, July 3: A 20-year-old man was reportedly stabbed to death last night at Nehru Park near Chanakya cinema. The deceased, along with four others, had gone to watch the evening show at Chanakya. They left the theatre about one hour after the film began and went to the near-by Nehru Park.

According to the DCP (South-west) P.K. Bharadwaj, Vivek Tokas, Pawan, Suresh, Dalip and Jagdish had a quarrel over some issue when they were sitting at the park following which Vivek stabbed Jagdish on his right thigh. Then they took a TSR to a Munirka village house and the victim went along with them.

The house reportedly belonged to Vivek's cousin. Back at Munirka, the accused reportedly gave Jagdish a bath, gave him a change of clothes and asked him to rest. Then all four of them left the house. The beat constable who was doing his rounds spotted Suresh while he was leaving the house.

``Finding him under suspicious circumstances,'' he interrogated Suresh and took him back to the house where the constable found Jagdish lying dead. The weapon of offence has also been recovered. According to the police, the victim seems to have died of excessive bleeding. Police has found blood stains at Nehru Park where they stabbed Jagdish.

Vasant Vihar police claim that all four accused have been arrested. Both Jagdish and Vivek had been jailed earlier under section 109 of the Indian Penal Code for hiding vital information from the police. All the five youths were unemployed. The deceased reportedly hailed from Chhattarpur village.
