Mulayam sends feelers to BSP
Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha convenor Mulayam Singh Yadav yesterday invited Bahujan Samaj Party to join the Morcha to dislodge the "anti-poor" BJP-led government at the Centre. However, he said, it was up to the BSP to decide on joining hands with the morcha in its effort to pull down the coalition government at the Centre.

Karnataka Cabinet split on caste lines, disgusted CM takes ill
Karnataka Chief Minister J H Patel, taking serious note of the meetings of Vokkaliga leaders and ministers, got himself admitted to a Bangalore hospital for rest and treament for fever. Karnataka Janata Dal president B L Shanakr said that Patel was not happy with the developments in the Vokkaliga camp and directed deputy Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to resolve the issue.

TMC too offers support to Congress
The Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) yesterday offered conditional support to the Congress, if it came forward to form an alternative Government at the Centre in place of the Vajpayee Government. Addressing a press conference after a meeting of the party's Political Affairs Committee, party chief G K Moopanar and parliamentary party leader P Chidambaram said the party would extend support to the Congress if it formed a Government without the help of ``undesirable elements from Tamil Nadu'', in an apparent reference to the AIADMK.
