AVUT organises concert at Kamani
The Association of the Victims' of Uphaar Tragedy has organised a musical offering by Shubha Mudgal on Monday at the Kamani auditorium. Shri K.T.S. Tulsi, a senior advocate, would be the chief guest.

Use water supplied by local bodies
Delhi Health and Education Minister Harsh Vardhan has said citizens should only use drinking water supplied by local bodies in order to avoid water-borne diseases like cholera, typhoid and jaundice. The Delhi Jal Board has put into use more than a thousand tankers to meet the requirements all over the city, he added. The minister advised that if water is not obtained from local bodies then residents should use chlorine tablets for purification.

Tree-planting programme organised in Narela
A tree-planting programme was organised by the Forest Department of the Delhi Government in Narela on Sunday. This was part of the ongoing Van Mahotsav 1998 celebrations, and the Chief Minister was the chief guest. Through the campaign the forest department hopes to distribute 4 lakh seedlings and plant 22 lakh seedlings. Another tree-plantation programme was launched from Tikona Park, Jorbagh. The NDMC has decided to plant more than 50,000 trees and shrubs during the monsoon.

More amenities at cremation ground
The Standing Committee chairman of the MCD, Shanti Desai, inaugurated the construction of a project at the Wazirpur cremation ground here on Sunday. The plan includes a covered area for pyres and wood sheds. He also inaugurated the laying of a sewer line in Bharat Nagar.
