PUNE, July 13: A 45-year-old man from a slum in Mangalwar Peth was allegedly murdered when he intervened in a brawl in his neighbourhood late last night.Thirtyfive-year-old Dattu Kashinath Pandharkar and his wife Nanda (30), have been arrested by the Faraskhana police on the charge of murdering Kishore Patole.
Patole's son Sanjay (29) and neighbours Janglya K Kamble (23), Dadu K Kamble (25), Shiva S Kamble (25), Dattu and Nanda were injured in the brawl.
Kishore and Sanjay Patole had intervened in a squabble involving the Kambles and Pandharkars to resolve the matter when they were attacked, Sanjay's complaint stated. Police said the squabble started as Dattu started arguing with the Kambles after he lost a small a fortune to them in a card game.
