HOWRAH, July 14: The Indian Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has selected seven weightlifters to represent the country at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur beginning from September 10.The team was selected after a trial at Netaji Subhas Institute of Sports, Patiala, on July 10, IWF general secretary Gopal Khanra said in a press release here today.
S Sehgal would be the manager, while AK Sirohi (Railways) and DK Sharma (SAI) have been appointed as coaches.
Team: 56 kg AK Pandian (Railways), D Wilson (Services); 62kg M Arun (Railways), N Krishnamurthy (Services); 69kg C Vadivelu (Services), Sandeep Kumar (Police); 77kg Satheesa Rai (Bank). Reserve: G Gnanashekhar (FCI).
