Hindalco to hike foil capacity
MUMBAI, July 16: Hindalco Industries, the AV Birla group aluminium major, has finally decided to go ahead with its earlier plan of doubling its foils unit capacity to 10,000 tonne per annum.Hindalco's foil plant at Silvassa, which went on stream in February this year, currently produces plain foils and markets most of it in western India, which accounts for 70% of the total foils consumption. For foils manufacturing, Hindalco has a technical tie-up with international aluminium giant Reynolds.
