Crime Watch -- Surat

Burglaries
In two cases of burglaries reported in the city on Thursday, miscreants broke into diamond workshops located at Mahidharpura area of the city and decamped with cash and diamonds worth Rs 1.60 lakh. A case registered by Bharat Shah in the the Mahidharpura police station on Thursday afternoon stated that, Shah's office located at Ratnakanchan Apartments at Bhojabhai Ni Sheri in Mahidharpura as well as the one beside his office, that of Naresh Shah were burgled. While diamonds worth Rs 75,000 and Rs 6,000 in cash were stolen from Bharat Shah's office, diamonds worth Rs 70,000 and Rs 8000 in cash were stolen from Naresh Shah's office. The Mahidharpura police have registered a case under sections 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code and are investigating. No arrests have been made.

Stabbed
One Gopalbhai Devjibhai Vasava, a youth residing in Nana Varachha area of the city lodged a police complaint in the Kapodara police station stating that Arvindbhai approached him and stabbed him in the stomach with a broken soda bottle in the Nana Varachha village. The Kapodara police have registered a case and are investigating.

Vehicle stolen
A Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ 5 AB 5172) was reported stolen from the main gate of Hajuri Chambers, Zampa Bazaar, according to a complaint lodged by Mahendra Surana in the Mahidharpura police.

Another Hero Honda motorcycle (GJ 5 LL 2369) was stolen from the Ved Road area, the Katargam police said. Vitthal Patel told the Katargam police that his vehicle was stolen from the parking space of his house.
