Blind chess team in immigration row
The Indian blind chess team almost landed in jail for breach of immigration rules in Prague (Czechoslovakia), where they were prevented from boarding the Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt on their way back to India.

Visas denied to foreign coaches
The Japanese embassy has denied visas to all five foreign officials accompanying the Indian contingent to the 12th the Asian Track and Field Meet in Fukuoka (Japan) from July 19-22.
