Public panic over rumour of abduction
BANGALORE, July 17: School managements in Vijayanagar in the City, police, andthe media wereon their toes all Thursday in the wake of rumours that some students had been kidnapped from a school after assaulting a teacher. The rumour, conveyed through anonymous telephone calls to newspaper offices soon spread, galvanizing the police into action, and sending parents rushing to schools to confirm the safety of their offsprings.
