NEW DELHI, July 26: Hoshiarpur Club beat Khalsa Blues 3-2 in the Delhi State Hockey League for institutional clubs at Shivaji Stadium here on Sunday. All the goals came in the second half. Khalsa Blues took the lead in the 35th minute when right-out Gurpreet Singh scored a field goal. Centre-forward Iqbal of Hoshiarpur Sports Club equalised in the 40th minute. Ravi Kumar scored the second goal for Hoshiarpur Club and Arun scored the third goal in the 45th minute.In the second match, Shahdara Heroes beat Tribal Heroes 4-2. Both the teams shared two goals at the end of the first session. Right-half Devender Singh scored the first goal for Shahdara Heroes in the 23rd minute. John Kerketta of Tribal Heroes equalised in the 30th minute. Right-out Rajesh Kumar scored the second goal for Shahdara Heroes and made it 2-1. John Kerketta again scored the equaliser for Tribal Heroes. Devender once again scored for Shahdara Heroes in the 50th minute. Rajesh Kumar scored the fourth goal in the 59th minute to complete the tally.
In the other match, Brothers Club and Adivasi played a 1-1 draw. No team could score any goal till half time. Naresh of Brother Club scored the first goal in the 45th minute and B. Lasius Kujur scored the goal for Adivasis.
Khalsa White failed to turn up for their game against Independent and the latter were given a walkover. In the last match of the day, Youngesters beat Sonnet 3-1. Till half time there was no score, Right-in Rajwinder Singh scored the first and third goals for Youngesters in the 50th and 57th minute respectively. Centre-half Rajinder Singh scored the second goal for Youngesters in the 54th minute. Nanak Singh of Sonnet scored the consolation goal in the 59th minute.
