He was later produced in the court of chief metropolitan magistrate D Pal, where the prosecution alleged that Raju had taken a bribe of Rs 55,000 to supply RDX to the terrorist group responsible for the Coimbatore blasts last February. One of the blasts took place shortly before BJP leader L K Advani was to address a public meeting in the city, killing 58 people and injuring nearly 200.

Raju was remanded to police custody till August 18. CMM Pal ordered that he be produced in the Coimbatore court before August 7.
