NEW DELHI, July 28: The Delhi Soccer Association-SAIL Senior Division League matches will come to a close on Wednesday, with three matches remaining to be completed. The Super League encounters will be played from August 1 at the Ambedkar Stadium.So far, five teams -- Hindustan, New Delhi Heroes, Shastri, IAF (New Delhi) and Simla Youngs -- have already qualified for the super league. There is a fight for the sixth place which will go either to Shahdara or Goans Club, depending upon the results of their matches on Wednesday.
In group B, however, all the six super league teams have been spotted. They are City, Indian Nationals, Youngmen, Mughals, Moonlight, Hans.
According to a spokesman of Delhi Soccer Association, the league sub-committee in its meeting considered the protest lodged by South India Club against Frontier in their match on July 20 for fielding unregistered players but found ``no valid grounds to substantiate South India Club's charges.'' The committee has, hence, rejected the protest, the spokesman said on Tuesday.
Meanwhile the league sub-committee has asked the super league qualifying tams to collect their fixtures from the DSA office on Wednesday, between 5.30 pm and 7 pm.
Super League Groupings:
Group A: Hindustan, New Delhi Heroes, Shastri Football Club, Indian Air Force (New Delhi), Simla Youngs, Shahdara/Goan Sports.
Group B: City Club, Indian Nationals, Youngmen, Mughals, Moonlight, Hans Club.
