VADODARA, Aug 3: After Commerce, now it the turn of the Faculty of Arts, M S University to face the wrath of student union leaders.Faculty leaders boycotted the entrance examinations of the English Department on Monday.
The examinations, supposed to be held for the students seeking admission in MA, will now be held after two to three days.
When contacted, Head of the department P C Kar said, ``We cannot take any decision in this regard as only the Board of Studies is authorised to do so.''
Kar said the announcement of the new dates will take time, as they had to give notices to outstation students.
Kar pointed out that the test was necessary because they could not grant admissions to students, who had secured below 45 per cent at the graduation level. Meanwhile, faculty representative, Mihir Upadhaya claimed that students themselves were protesting against the tests, as it reduced the chances of admission of the home university.
Upadhya said their demand was that home university students be granted admissions on basis of their percentage and not according to their performance in the open test.
