Friendship Day bash organised

VADODARA, Aug 3: A wave of camaraderie swept over the dance floor at the Indian Express-Channel Y Friendship Day bash, on Sunday with over 1000 youngsters in the city swinging, jiving and rocking to the chartbusters played by the city's top three disc jockeys (DJs) Francis, Rizvi and Samir, till well past midnight.

Sponsored by Pepsi, Aptech Education and The Shoppe, the music and dance nite got underway at the Rosary Skating Ring at around 8 pm.

A total of 25 prizes were given by The Shoppe, Tandoor and Aptech in the best dressed male/female/couple, youngest couple, colourful guy, charming lady, best male/female dancer, non-stop dancing couple and intimate dancing categories. Three DJ's choice awards were also presented, among others.

It was for the third consecutive year that the Friendship Day bash was organised by The Indian Express-Channel Y.

The first event was held in 1996 at the Baskin Robbins followed by another in 1997 at Surya Palace which received an overwhelming response. The proceeds of Sunday's show will go to the Rotaract Club of Baroda Roundtown for its social activities.
