Woman hit by car One Nitaben Mohanbhai, a resident of Vivekananda Society in Varachha area of the city, lodged a police complaint stating that she was hit by a Fiat car (GUC 9703) near Gitanjali cinema in the area. The driver fled the scene immediately after the accident, the complainant added. Nitaben had to be admitted to the hospital, the police said. A case under sections 279 and 337 as well as sections 134 and 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act has been registered and is being investigated.Thefts Readymade garments worth Rs 40,000 were stolen from a shop, a case of burglary registered at the Katargam police station said on Monday. The owner of Ambica Garments on the Amroli main road, Dilipkumar Tailor, lodged a complaint stating that his shop was burgled by miscreants on Sunday night. The Katargam police have registered a case under IPC 454, 457 and 380. In another case registered at the Rander police station, cash of Rs 20,000 were stolen from Pratapsinh Rathod's workshop, B M Engineering Group, located at Sita Tower in Rander. Rathod complained to the police that miscreants broke open his workshop's lock, and stole the money kept in a cupboard. The Rander police is investigating. Case registered An autorickshaw driver registered a case of damage to property against unidentified people, who after damaging his vehicle, set it on fire on Sunday evening. According to the complainant, Lakhansingh Siyaram, he had parked his vehicle at an open compound near Mangaldeep Society, but when he returned after a while, he found his vehicle burnt.
