VADODARA, Aug 3: The Railway Police here on Monday registered an unnamed FIR under sections 323 and 114 IPC against three railway employees for assaulting army officials on Saturday night.The case was lodged by Col Sahi Kumar of EME School, Vadodara, who alleged that he along with two trainees had been roughed up by railway reservation employees on Saturday.
According to the complaint, when Sahi went to the railway station for booking tickets, he unknowingly entered the booking clerk's cabin. And when a railway peon injured his finger, when Sahi shut the door, it provoked the the booking clerk to use unparliamentary language, Sahi added.
Though Sahi identified himself as an army official, he was roughed up by the booking clerk and two others, the complaint said.
The two trainees, who were standing outside the office tried to intervene, were also manhandled, Sahi further alleged.
Meanwhile, army officials have applied to First Class Judicial Magistrate (Railway) K M Jhala, seeking transfer of the case to the army under provisions of section 475 of CrPC, so that further action could be initiated against the trainees involved in the incident.
A senior army officer said, ``Strict action would be taken against the trainees for their actions no matter the cause for provocation. We can't afford any laxity towards our cadres on indiscipline.'' Though he refused to divulge the immediate action taken against the accused, sources said that their motorcycles had been withdrawn.
