CHANDIGARH, Aug 3: Students of the Master of Finance and Control (MFC) course today walked out of the examination hall, protesting against the "out-of-syllabus" question paper, and later assembled in front of the office of the Panjab University Vice-Chancellor.The students said the question paper on "international finance" was not according to the prescribed pattern. While the pattern prescribed five sections of long-answer questions, the paper had three sections of short-answer questions. The students also submitted a memorandum to the chairperson of the Department of Correspondence Studies, which offers the MFC course. Students Organisation of Panjab University president S.P.S.Randhawa has, in the meantime, demanded re-examination.
Meanwhile, confusion reigned supreme at the PU gymnasium where students assembled to inquire about the BA Part-I result. Though copies of the result gazette had been sent to various colleges, this was not announced by the university, resulting in all City students assembling at the gymnasium.
The problem was compounded by the fact that only one inquiry counter was operational. Students surged inside the gymnasium, causing considerable confusion and tension. However, four inquiry counters were opened later.
