Replying to a special discussion on the problems of the SC/ST community, Minister for Welfare Maneka Gandhi said the modalities were being worked out. A National Commission, she said had been constituted to review the various programmes for scheduled tribes.

The government had been repeatedly requesting the states to set up exclusive courts with central assistance to deal with cases relating to atrocities on the people belonging to the two groups.
