Clinton to deny sexual affair with Monica
Even as President Bill Clinton's legal team scrambled to keep top White House lawyers off the witness stand, a spokesman said Clinton would continue to deny that he had sex with Monica Lewinsky.

Lanka Govt imposes emergency
President Chandrika Kumaratunga on Tuesday imposed an island-wide emergency making way for a postponement of the month-end provincial council elections. A short proclamation by Kumaratunga through a gazette extraordinary said the emergency was in ``the interests of public security, the protection of public order and the maintenance of supplies and services essential to the life of the community''.
