BANGALORE, Aug 5: The Net's catch is getting younger. Deeksha, daughter of software engineer Sharath Hegde and website designer Priya, has her own Home Page, loves nothing better than surfing the Net, peeps into chat rooms and is an active participant in Net meetings. She has also received more than 2,000 e-mail messages. She is only three-years old.
Deeksha got her home page when her exasperated parents felt they needed something to distract her while they were at work, and at the same time keep her interest in computers alive. The couple run their own design studio.
At school, her teacher describes her as a bright and attentive child. But, Deeksha is not content with just books and pencils; she insists on toying with a lone computer kept in the nursery.
Her teacher tries to stop her from fiddling with the computer. ``Why am I not allowed to use the computer at school when I can at home?'' the three-year-old demands.
This apart, Deeksha is like any other kid at home, mischievous and restless. Sheloves solving jigsaw puzzles and playing with her dog. Her other favourite pastimes are colouring and sketching.
And when she is not occupied with any other activity, there's always the computer.
Her `messages' are nothing but a jumble of alphabets but the photographs on her home page -- one shows her working in school, another at home -- are enough to captivate browsers who often stop by to send messages.
