SURAT, Aug 5: State Tribal Welfare and Scale Industries Minister Mangu Patel will hoist the national flag at the collectorate in Ahwa of the Dangs district as part of the Independence Day celebrations.Collector Kanti Patel, in a statement, said in keeping with the large-scale celebrations throughout the country, the Dangs district administration had also planned a number of cultural and development-oriented programmes to mark the day. He said celebrations had already begun from Saturday.
While some functions were held on Tuesday at the Kalibel primary school and at the Mahal Ashram Shala on Wednesday, a number of functions will be held on Thursday in Saputara, in Ahwa on August 10, in Waghai on August 12 and at Shingana on the Independence Day. The programmes will include musical and cultural events, the collector stated, adding functions for students will carry cash prizes.
Students of all primary and secondary schools of the tribal-dominated district will take out rallies, as decided at a district-level meeting held a couple of days ago at the Ahwa collectorate.
