Rs 1-cr haul of gold at IGIA

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, August 5: In another seizure of gold at the IGI Airport, customs officials have seized 200 gold biscuits valued at Rs 1 crore. The haul weighs over 23 kg.

The gold had been consigned from Dubai to a non-existent firm and the import documents showed a fictitious address as well as bogus telephone numbers.

The consignment was in the name of a company called Shree Ganesh Exports. Punjab National Bank, through which the documents were routed, has denied any knowledge of the firm and the gold.
