Tytler made DPCC vice-president

NEW DELHI, August 5: Congress president Sonia Gandhi today appointed former Union minister Jagdish Tytler as one of the vice-president of the Delhi Pradesh Congress committee (DPCC) along with twelve others, M.M. Aggarwal as the treasurer and 18 general secretaries.

AICC general secretary Oscar Fernandes in a release said a 40-member executive committee of the PCC will comprise seven other members, apart from already appointed DPCC chief Sheila Dixit, 13 vice-presidents and 18 general secretaries.

Former Lok Sabha members Sajjan kumar and Jai Prakash Aggarwal, local MLAS Ramvir Singh Bidhuri and Krishna Tirth and Subhash Chopra are among the newly appointed vice-presidents and Anjana Kanwar, Jai Kishen, Deepak Bhagat, Kiran Choudhary, Ramesh Sabharwal and Hassan Ahmed as the general secretaries.

The executive will also have permanent invitees in the form of AICC office bearers, all former presidents, leaders in the state Assembly and the Delhi municipal corporation and heads of frontal organisations.

There would be 42 special invitees in the executive committee, besides a six-member disciplinary committee with Roshan Lal as the chairman and five-member ethics committee headed by Brij Mohan.

Gandhi has also approved the appointment of the chairmen and convenors of 13 various departments including SC/ST, lawyer, teachers, labour, minorities and traders, besides JJ slums and doctors cells, the release said.
