Jethmalani flays charges linking with Dawood
Urban Affairs Minister Ram Jethmalani in the Lok Sabha described as `monstrous' the allegation that the designated TADA court in Mumbai had banned his entry on the charge that he had connections with Dawood Ibrahim. Jethmalani said that he had refused to appear in the court on his own as he felt that the judge was "perverse and wrong" in one of the two TADA cases.

PCI raps leading English daily
The Press Council of India (PCI) has censured The Times of India for violating journalistic ethics. It said that paper had violated norms by resorting to "communalisation, deliberate distortion of statements of three eminent personalities, and attempt to pressurise a government agency."

New missile to defend Islamic world -- Iran
The ground-to-ground missiles that Iran recently successfully tested are intended to protect the "Islamic world," a military official said on Tuesday. General Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, commander of the Revolutionary Guards' (Pasdaran) Air forces, said the Shahab-3 missile was "a tool for defending the Islamic world and oppressed nations."
