Vajpayee to meet Cauvery basin CMs today
Prime Minister A B Vajpayee is expected to place a "re-modified" scheme for the implementation of the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal's interim order before the crucial meeting of chief ministers of Cauvery basin states.

Farooq holds talks with Vajpayee, Advani
Having arrived in New Delhi after a two-week holiday in London Jammu & Kashmir CM Farooq Abdullah straightaway got into the act of familiarising himself with the new "ground situation" in his troubled State. For the better part of the day, Farooq made himself busy by meeting top Central leaders, including Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, LK Advani and George Fernandes.

Abrar Ahmed quits BJP
Former Union minister Abrar Ahmed, who left the Congress and joined the BJP just before the general elections, has quit the party accusing it of a secret agenda. He charged the BJP with "total negligence of the Muslim community and hurting their feelings on sensitive issues."
