US dash Aussie hopes Italy, Argentina reach quarter-finals
Italy and Argentina have clinched the last two quarter-final slots at the World Basketball Championship but it is the United States and Yugoslavia who have stolen the show. The US thrashed Australia, 96-78, to dash the `boomers' remaining hopes of a last eight slot.
Donald desperate to win series
England have not won their last 17 major Test series since beating Australia 2-1 in 1986-87. With this series tied at 1-1, they have another chance at winning a series going into the deciding match after letting their four previous chances slip by.
Sahara Cup or Commonwealth Games, the riddle continues
The event may have been announced, but it still not clear whether the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will be able to field its top team for the Sahara Cup in Toronto next month. The event involving India and Pakistan is now into its third year, but this time it clashes with the Commonwealth Games, where cricket figures for the first time.
