Fatehgarh Sahib: To stop the misuse of the word ``Press'' the police have introduced special stickers for the vehicles of mediapersons. This was disclosed by Paramrat Singh Dhaliwal SSP of Fatehgarh Sahib while talking to mediapersons here yesterday. He said that strict action would be taken against the defaulters.

Agitation
Nawanshahr: The district unit of the Sanjha Adhiyapak Morcha staged a dharna in front of the office of the District Education Officer here yesterday in support of their demands. Addressing the gathering, union leaders, including Bhupinder Singh Warraich, Surjeet Singh Bains, Arunesh Kumar, Dewan Singh, Prem Rakkar and Shiv Kumar, demanded an increase in the grades of school teachers.

Bofors
Ferozepur: Major General K.C. Padha, GOC Golden Arrow division, as part of the culmination of 50 years of Independence celebrations inaugurated Army weapon and equipment display in the local Jyoti Stadium here. The Bofors gun was also displayed. On the demand of the journalists, functioning and firing technique of the much talked about gun was also shown. Rural as well as the urban people including college and school students showed keen interest in the proceedings.

Demands
Kullu: The Trained Voluntary Lecturers Teachers Association of the district has sought the regularisation of the services of the voluntary lecturers the way the services of primary voluntary teachers were regularised in the state. Vice-president Padam Thakur said that the ruling government in its poll manifesto had promised to regularise the services of all those voluntary teachers who had completed five years. He reminded that the Chief Minister had announced in his budget speech that all kinds of voluntary teachers would be regularised from August 8. He regretted that the 4,159 voluntary teachers who were being regularised did not include the trained senior secondary voluntary lecturers.

Flayed
Sundernagar: Om Parkash Bhardwaj, president, HP Youth Shiv Sena, in a press statement here yesterday, strongly condemned the killings of 35 innocent labourers in Chamba district. Bhardwaj demanded military rule in Chamba district to flush out the infiltrators from across the border. Meanwhile, Krishnanand Swami, president All India Hindu Mahasangh, has also demanded military rule in Chamba district, as the district administration had completely failed to provide security to the peace-loving citizens.

Mandi: Beopar Mandal president Ashok Kapoor today condemned the massacre of 35 labourers at Kalaban and Shtrundi hamlets in Chamba district on Sunday by the Pakistan trained militants. Kapoor warned the Union Government that unless prompt action was taken to flush out pro-Pakistani terrorists from the state areas bordering Jammu and Kashmir, this peaceful state would soon be infested with Pakistan promoted insurgents. He appealed to Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal to take strong security measures along the border district of Chamba and to nab the terrorists who were still hiding in the forests of the state.
