Bank cashier looted of Rs 9 lakh

MUMBAI, August 12: A bank cashier, Jagannath Chavan, employed with the Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), Kanjurmarg branch, was robbed of Rs 9 lakh while he was on his way to deposit the money at the bank's Saki Naka branch on Wednesday afternoon.At around 12 noon, as the cashier's cab reached gate no 4 of IIT, Powai, he was intercepted by a Maruti car. Three unidentified men armed with choppers alighted from the car and decamped with the cash. The Saki Naka police have lodged a case of robbery.
