Girl commits suicide
A 17-year-old school girl committed suicide by consuming an insecticide on Sunday night and died before she could be rushed to the hospital, the Varachha police said. A resident of Bapu Maharaj Tekra of Ashwini Kumar Road, Sonal Ishwarbhai, consumed the insecticide after her father scolded her for not doing the household work, the police added. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the the CrPC and are investigating.Woman dead
One Ranjajaben Sanjaybhai, a 20-year-old resident of plot no 5 of Nilgiri Mayur Society at Limbayat, died at the New Civil Hospital late on Tuesday evening after consuming an overdose of medicines, the police said. According to the Limbayat police, it could not be ascertained whether Ranjanaben had consumed the medicines accidentally or to commit suicide. A case of accidental death under CrPC 174 has been registered at the police station, the Limbayat police adding that the family members were being interrogated.
Robbed
Three people looted a man of Rs 20,000, his wrist watch and other valuables at Vasvari crossing late on Tuesday night and escaped, a complaint registered at the Katargam police station said. The complainant, Mansukhbhai Patel, told the Katargam police that one Nilesh and two unidentified persons looted him and escaped, even before he could raise an alarm. The police have registered a case and are investigating.
Burglary
Rs 40,000 in cash were stolen from a shop on Wednesday, a case of house-breaking registered in the Athwa Lines police station said. One Arunkumar Shah told the police that his shop, Baroda Agency, located at Chauta Market was burgled on Tuesday night. The Athwa Lines police are investigating.
