Seven feared dead in road mishap

PRESS TRUST OF INDIA  
KULLU, Aug 14: Seven persons, including two Israeli girls, were feared killed when a private truck carrying them fell into a gorge, about 190 kms from Manali in Himachal Pradesh, reports said here today.

The truck, on military duty, was carrying nine persons and was on its way from Leh to Pathankot when the accident occurred yesterday, reports said.Among the feared killed were truck driver Bishan Lal of Akhnoor in Jammu and Kashmir, two Israeli girls, two Army jawans and two persons from Ladakh., the reports said.

A rescue team found only one body till today while bodies of six others were feared to have been washed away by fast flowing water of Lingti Chu river, the reports said.

Conductor Ramesh Lal of Mathjara in Jammu and Kashmir escaped with minor injuries, the reports said.
