US sends back more scientists
WASHINGTON: Despite all the upbeat pronouncements on the Indo-US diplomatic front, the Clinton administration is not only sending back more Indian scientists in the US but is also holding back defence and scientific equipment India had sent here for testing purpose under a Memorandum of Understanding. NEW DELHI: Commerce Minister Ramakrishna Hegde said on Sunday that the government was considering either to restrict or ban export of onions in view of high prices and to protect the interest of the consumers. PSUs closure
NEW DELHI: The Government will close down nine sick Public Sector Undertakings this year as part of its policy to close non-revivable undertakings, Industry Minister Sikander Bakht said. ``There's no deadline but 1999 is too far away.They could be closed down by the end of this year.''
