CHANDIGARH, Aug 16: Two burglaries were reported from different parts of the City today, while a Sector 45 resident was caught red-handed while allegedly trying to commit burglary in a shop in Sector 35.Suraj Kumar, a resident of Sector 23, reported the theft of his motorcycle (CH-01-V-6700) from his residence. Indar Vig, a resident of Sector 38, reported to the police that a stereo was stolen from his residence while Sector 44 resident Rohit Ahuja reported that his house was burgled of gold jewellery worth over Rs 50,000, Rs 7,000 in cash and other household articles.
Ambar Tara of Sector 45, was reportedly caught committing a burglary in the basement of a showroom in Sector 35. Currency notes amounting to over Rs 5,000 were reportedly recovered from him. Meanwhile, three cyclists were injured in separate road accidents since yesterday. Joginder Singh of Kumhar Colony was injured when his cycle was hit by a Tata Sumo on the road dividing Sectors 24 and 25 this afternoon.
In another incident, an unknown cyclist was hit by a CTU bus in Sector 20 and rushed to the PGI. Sector 41 resident Raju was injured after he was hit by a scooter near his house yesterday.
