CHANDIGARH, Aug 16: Students of Lohia International School presented a colourful cultural programme to pay salutations to national heroes at their Independence Day celebrations. Rain was no deterrent for these tiny tots who sang patriotic songs and performed Punjabi folk dance. Students attired as various freedom struggle leaders enacted a few scenes.Former Governor of Haryana Dhanik Lal Mandal, hoisted the national flag and paid tributes to the national heroes who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country. Later, meritorious students were awarded prizes by chairman of the Lohia Karpuri Institute of Technology and Social Change. School principal, Elizabeth distributed sweet packets amongst students and their parents.
The students of Mother Sharda Public School, Panchkula also presented a programme of speeches, songs and dances to usher in he 51st year of India's Independence.
