S.A.S. NAGAR, Aug 16: Cataracts of 45 persons were removed through surgeries at eye operation camps by Shri Guru Granth Sahib Sewa Society at Laser Eye Hospital and Patiala Hospital subsequently here today.According to society spokesman Harjit Singh Sabharwal, these patients were short listed from the eye check-up camp organised at Zirakpur on August 9 in which 725 patients were examined and given free medicines.
A total of 126 spectacles were distributed to the needy patients. The spokesman disclosed that a 24-hour free ambulance service for accident victims would be launched from August 23 at the Sector 34 gurdwara. Justice Kuldeep Singh, president of the World Sikh Council will inaugurate this service, he added.
