PATIALA, Aug 16 : The Sub Station Staff Technical Union of the Punjab State Electricity Board (PSEB) has threatened that it would be forced to join the August 19 strike called by the PSEB employees struggle committee if the state government failed to come forward to extend financial help to the PSEB so that the pending arrears of the employees would be cleared and other outstanding demands accepted.Hardip Singh Deep, state president and Hardip Singh Sethi, general secretary of the union, in a joint statement here today alleged that the PSEB management was backing out of the agreement that it had reached with representatives of the struggle committee.
They alleged that the board was in a state of financial mess because of the ``wrong policies'' of the state government as chairman of the board was being changed frequently.
The two leaders have appealed to the sub station employees to join the August 19 strike called by the struggle committee if the board failed to announce acceptance of their demands by then.
