Function held at Gandhi's Valmiki Basti house

NEW DELHI, August 16: A special function was organised on the occasion of Independence Day at the hut in Valmiki Basti at Mandir Marg where Mahatama Gandhi used to stay.Speaking on the occasion, DPCC secretary Prabhat Raman demanded that the room where Gandhi used to stay and the place of public prayers where important leaders, including Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Jai Prakash Narain, among others used to come to consult Bapu, should be preserved as a museum.
